Rubberseal Commercial Roofing Systems – Overview

Commercial Roofing Systems

Commercial roofing is no longer a vision of gas flames and boiling asphalt. Nowadays cold applied single ply or liquid systems are the prefered product of choice for many building owners, contractors and architects.

EPDM

Firestone EPDM flat roofing systems are based on a single ply rubber membrane. Over 1,000,000,000m² have now been sucessfully installed world wide in climates as extreme as Alaska and the Arabian Gulf. Our own range of EPDM systems provide a complete solution to all commercial flat roofing applications, with a proven track record for longevity, durability and overall performance.

Liquid Roofing

Liquid roofing has also come a long way from the original bitumous systems and emulsions used in the 1970`s.  It is now the fastest growing sector of the flat roofing market. In the UK alone, it has grown by 70% in the last 5 years, demonstrating the increased importance of these systems. With this substantial growth has come the opportunity for the development of suitable high quality ancillary products, we now supply insulation, adhesives, trims and other components specifically designed for use with liquid systems.

Single Ply

Single Ply (Pvc & TPO) roofing systems are increasingly being used in the commercial and housing sector whether in new build or refurbishment. They are supplied in various roll sizes and usually hot air welded at the seams. They provide an attractive alternative for refurbishment of old traditional flat roofing materials, and can also be an economic and aesthetic solution to failed lead roofs. The versatility and durability of single ply roofing materials, combined with their excellent sustainability credentials, are the reason for the rapid growth of the single ply industry in the roofing market.

Green Roofing

Green Roofs serve several purposes for a building, such as absorbing rain water, providing insulation, creating a habitat for wildlife and providing a more aesthetically pleasing landscape. They can also help to lower urban air temperatures and mitigate the heat island effect. Green roofs are suitable for new build, retrofit or redevelopment projects and can be installed on small garages or larger industrial, commercial buildings. Rubberseal green roofing is now available in loose lay or our new modular tray system that is very easy to lay and provides a complete green roof system immediately after installation.
